Technical specifications and dimensions

Reference tables for shaft size, pit, machine room and key specifications of each elevator line. Architects and builders can use them to size the shaft from the design stage.

Options

Door types and glass car shapes

Two-panel centre opening

Two panels part to both sides for quick boarding. Common on passenger lifts.

Two-panel side opening

Both panels stack to one side, making the most of a narrow shaft. Often used on home lifts.

Four-panel centre opening

A wide opening for stretchers, trolleys and bulky goods.

Single-side opening

Large panels slide to one side; used on goods and hospital lifts.

Semi-circular
Square
Cut corner

The bold line on each glass car shape marks the safety glass.

Rope traction, machine at the top of the shaft

Home lift

Reference data for a 4 – 5 person home lift. ASAHI home lifts also come in shallow-pit and screw-drive versions; final dimensions are set after the site survey.

  • The hook must not project into the clear overhead space.
Machine room no larger than the shaft

Passenger lift with small machine room

The machine room is simply an extension of the shaft and takes no extra floor area. Gearless permanent-magnet machine and a compact controller.
